Trainings- TRAINING ACTION ON GENDER ISSUES
- Participating entity: Mn. Josep Guiteras Civic and Community Center; Vic City Lab. Social and Digital Innovation Lab (LISD) of the UVic-UCC
- Description: This project was born as a response to a demand of the Casal Cívico y Comunitario Mn. Josep Guiteras, with the aim of giving visibility and expression to the experiences of bullying reported by young people. The idea was to develop a prototype of an immersive space for sound creation based on these stories. The young people had the opportunity to participate in a creative process in which they will use their own experience as a basis for building an interactive space that reflects their experiences and emotions. The training action given by the experts of LO RELACIONAL, focused on gender issues, the participants had a basic training on issues related to equality and awareness of bullying. This training served as a basis for the development of the project.
- Course: March-July 2023
- Participants: Young people linked to the Casal Cívic y Comunitari Mn. Josep Guiteras.
- Objectives:
1.To give form to young people’s stories about bullying through the creation of an immersive sound space.
2.To provide young people with training on gender issues to enrich their knowledge and sensitivity to social issues related to harassment.
3. To offer a creative space for young people to express their personal experiences in a safe and constructive way.
4.Create a prototype of an immersive space to help raise awareness in the community and schools about bullying and its emotional effects on individuals.
- Reflections: This project has allowed the young people to transform their experiences into a creative and formative process, giving them a new perspective on their experiences. Through the sound space, they have been able to express their emotions in a different way and raise awareness about the problem of bullying. In the end, the project could not be carried out in its entirety, since the necessary commitment of the participants was not achieved, and the lack of time limited the possibilities of carrying out the planned immersive experience. However, the creation process and the training sessions allowed the young people to deepen their experiences and reflect on bullying and gender issues. These reflections were an important step in raising awareness and understanding the importance of creating safe spaces for self-expression. Although the immersive space could not materialize, the training and the work on the stories provided the community with a basis for further reflection on these issues in the future.
