Principles governing LISD's actions

The LISD is committed to the development of inclusive and democratic digital practices.LISD welcomes, attends to and accompanies diversity through participatory practices. The cross-cutting principles that govern the research and actions designed and developed by LISD are as follows: .

  • Commitment to the territory : it is necessary to recognize the characteristics of the context and adjust to its needs .
  • Social and digital inclusion for the common good: it is necessary to build actions from, with and for the population .
  • Continuity: it is necessary that the actions can remain in time .
  • Sustainability : it is essential to optimize strategies and resources .
  • Replicability : the actions developed must allow for the analysis, adjustment and development of improvements in other territories and contexts .

Phases of action research

With these principles as a basis, the LISD methodology is based on action-research and is articulated around four cyclical phases that involve recognizing the socio-digital needs of the territory, working together with the community in the construction of improvement actions, evaluating the impact on the territory and planning the continuity and improvements to be introduced.

Detection and diagnosis of socio-digital needs of the population.

To know the sociodigital reality of the city of Vic, and to analyze and identify the digital gaps and opportunities linked to the intersectional perspective. 

Shared design of digital wellness improvement proposals

Co-design with the population and entities the actions that can improve their socio-digital well-being and that of other people.

Improvement actions implementation

Carry out the actions designed in the planning.

Evaluation of the process, outcomes and impacts with a forward-looking perspective

Participate in the evaluation process and analyze indicators to see potentialities and weaknesses of the project.

Key actors in action research

The research-action work carried out by LISD requires the participation of the community, the UVic-UCC student body and the team of researchers and LISD’s dynamizer. In short, LISD researches and acts from, with and for the community.
