Reflections of UVic students
- At the end of the session we spent a few minutes each commenting on how motivated we were with the project, what we expected from the women, what we think they expected from us….
- After today's session, we were able to get to know the participants and a bit of their life story. We created a very cozy space and everyone participated in the getting to know each other activities, it was a very emotional moment to feel some of the most special moments of the participants' lives. These activities have helped us to get to know ourselves better and to establish connections from each other's likes and dislikes with the participants.
- In today's session we were able to know the participants' life stories in more detail. The fact that we were separated by groups helped us to establish a bond with the participants and learn more about their lives, giving importance to the most beautiful moments and listening to them.
- We are satisfied with the work we have done, since we have met the established objectives and we have already started to work with the main idea of the project, to give a voice to the participants.
- We consider that the objectives have been satisfactorily achieved, since reviewing the life line and elaborating a personal script has promoted reflection on personal experiences. The participants have chosen what they wanted to explain, creating a safe and respectful space. Therefore, we believe that the objective of "sharing and encouraging reflection on one's own life" has been satisfactorily met.
- On the other hand, an exercise of practicing with the cell phone was carried out to work on communication and personal expression. Some participants, such as Maria, have shown great ease in front of the camera, while others, such as *Villa, still need more practice and support.
- Today's session has been one of the most special and one that we consider that we will always remember. It has been a success to do the session with this planning, since it has helped us to live a moment all together, both students, as the teacher and the women, where we have enjoyed and laughed for a good time.
- Today was a very important day, both for us and for the women of Ashes and La Alba. Today was the day when we presented the documentary with the life stories of the women.
- The evaluation helps us to reflect on all that we have learned and experienced, and helps us to prepare ourselves to be able to carry out better socio-educational projects in the future.
- We have been present at all times in order to accompany the women in a very personal process for them, respecting their time and their space. We also want to highlight the communication that we have been having with them, it is interesting and enriching to be able to communicate and that they could express themselves with us.
- Hearing their stories firsthand allows us to discover new insights and better understand the difficulties and obstacles they have faced throughout their lives.
- Spending afternoons with these women has allowed us to realize that often what we need is simply to be heard and to be present. No matter how many activities you have planned, you often realize that the big things are found in the little things.
