Participating entity: The City Council of Vic, Vic City Lab, the Digital Social Innovation Lab (UVic), the Community of Vic; the Primary Care Team (EAP) Vic. Tangancial (trainers)

Description

The Digital Facilitators Network project is an initiative that seeks to reduce the digital divide and promote digital inclusion in the city of Vic. Through theoretical and practical training, it trains people with different profiles to become digital facilitators. These people acquire basic digital skills, as well as dynamization techniques and communication skills to accompany other citizens in the use of devices, applications and digital services.

The project is deployed in various points of care strategically distributed throughout the city, such as Horta Vermella, Casal Claret, Casal de la Gent Gran Mn. Josep Guiteras and the Montseny Civic Center. This care model ensures that facilitators adapt to the diverse needs of users, promoting their digital autonomy and active participation in the digital environment.

Participants: The training is aimed at people of various ages and profiles, with the objective of forming a group of facilitators capable of actively intervening in their communities.

Objectives:

  1. Train facilitators in digital competencies and dynamization skills.
  2. Enable them to help people with different levels of digital skills.
  3. Promover la inclusión digital y garantizar que todo el mundo pueda ejercer sus derechos en la esfera digital.

Reflections

Despite the variability in the initial levels of the participants and the reduction of the group for personal reasons, the project has been considered a success. Digital needs of citizens, especially the elderly, have been detected and covered, improving their autonomy. A support network has been created among facilitators to manage complex situations and maintain the service in the future. However, it is proposed to improve the initial training and make it more dynamic to ensure a more balanced and motivating experience.
