Description
The Som Aquí project is an initiative promoted by Vic Jove with the collaboration of the Municipal Office of Reception. And it is focused on accompanying young people who have recently arrived in the city of Vic, schooled between 1st and 4th of ESO, during their first two years of arrival. The main objective is to reinforce the learning of Catalan and facilitate their social and school integration. The project also includes activities to help young people learn about the city’s resources and establish links with other young people.
The LISD (Laboratory of Social and Digital Innovation) collaborates by providing space and attention to young people, through the accompaniment of the facilitator, who acts as a bridge between Vic Jove, young people and monitors. Trying to maintain a direct relationship with the young people, offering them individualized support during the activities and helping them to solve any need that may arise. In addition, making the LISD known to the young people, so that they can take advantage of the resources and make demands or proposals.

Participants: Young people from Vic Jove (Som Aquí Project)

Objectives:

  1. Reinforce the learning of Catalan as a fundamental tool for the social and educational integration of young newcomers.
  2. Facilitate integration into the city by connecting youth to local resources and building relationships with other youth in the community.
  3. Offer accompaniment and personalized attention to the young people, helping them to resolve doubts and individual needs within the project.
  4. Explore future collaborations between young newcomers and university students, taking advantage of LISD’s multipurpose space to develop new activities and joint projects.
