Mining effluents present different compositions depending on each mining activity. Nowadays it is quite difficult to find relevant data about mining effluents at European level and there is a clear lack of information related to the environmental impact caused by these polluting effluents and their current management strategies. In that sense, the objective of the LIFE DEMINE mining effluent database is to collect relevant data of different mining effluents, focusing mainly in abandoned mines, but also including active mining activities.

The data included in this database will be highly useful to extrapolate and replicate the project results and demonstrate that the LIFE DEMINE technology will be able to decrease the high environmental impact caused by the mining effluents.
