The last 28 and 29th of November, Swansea University and ELENTEC attended the MineXchange conference in Aberystwyth University (Wales, UK) organized by Natural Resources of Wales and the Coal Authority.
The objective of the MineXchange conference was to facilitate the development of project relationships between academia and industry, sharing knowledge and experience to innovate and commercialize opportunities that aim to recover damaged metal mine environments.
In this context, Darren Oatley-Radcliffe from Swansea University presented the LIFE DEMINE project and the treatment technology, based on membranes and electrocoagulation, that is being developed within the framework of this project. In addition, the MineXchange conference included a fieldtrip on Friday 29th November to Frongoch and Cwm Rheidol mines. In Frongoch mine, ELENTEC showed and explained the functioning of the LIFE DEMINE pilot plant, currently operating in this site, to three different groups of visitors.
