The second meeting of the Life DEMINE project took place in Dresden Groundwater Research Centre (DGFZ) on 28th and 29th May 2018. The meeting count with the participation of the five partners of the project: BETA Technological Centre, DGFZ, Swansea University, Elentec Ltd. and the Government of the Principality of Asturias.
During the meeting, we reviewed the progress of the project and the objectives to be attained in the next months. We commented the development of the bench scale experiments in Swansea University to define the best operation conditions of the DEMINE technology (Action B1), and the progress made in the other actions that are in development right now. For the completed preparatory actions, we discussed the main results obtained about the policies involved in mining wastewaters (Action A1) and the variability in the composition of mining effluents across Europe (Action A2). This has led to many interesting conclusions.
Finally, we also visited the Dresden Groundwater Research Centre, where interesting experiment are being carried out in the field of mining wastewater management.
