Extensive review of the legal framework affecting the environmental problem targeted in the DEMINE project

During the execution of the preparatory Action A.1, an extensive review of the different policies and directives at European, Spanish, British and German level has been performed in order to assess the whole range of legislation related to the environmental problem caused by abandoned mines on water bodies. The study performed has been focused on those policies and directives related to the protection of water bodies and mining activities as the main legal framework affecting this environmental problem.

All this information has been organized in a detailed database that gives a schematic overview about the legal framework affecting the environmental problem targeted at European, German, Spanish and English level, allowing a quick comparison between them.

The collected information will be highly useful to detect the limits and weak points of the current policies and legislations, as well as to identify how Life DEMINE project can have a real positive impact in the legislation framework.
