Project Description

This project entails developing an understanding of doing research in education. The main objective is to guide students in creating suitable data collection tools to address research objectives and questions. They will also acquire skills to derive useful information from the data, leading to a better understanding of the research problem.

    • Questions
    • Hypotheses
  • Quantitative research
  • Qualitative research
  • Mixed methods
  • Data collection tools

Activities

Students from both universities will collaborate online to achieve the following objectives:

  • Identify the key steps involved in the research process.
  • Understand the distinct characteristics of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research.
  • Recognise the different types of research designs associated with each of these research methods.

They will need to work in groups to hand in assignments related to each of these topics.
There will also be two online but synchronous sessions: one conducted by Professor Sílvia Garriga (from Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya) and another conducted by Professor Nicolina Bosco (from Università di Siena).
