Marta and Federica have been visiting different case-studies they knew or recommended by other colleagues in Catalonia and Andalucia, to understand the different contexts and characteristics and decide which of all of them can better fit the research objectives of the project.
In Catalonia we have been visiting our colleagues from Gallecs, the Ecomuseo in Osona and the Sheperds School in Pallars.
In Andalucia we have been visiting the Vega in Granada, the farmers and consumers association La Sub-bética in Córdoba, the Paulo Freire Schools in Aracena (Huelva) and Benalauria (Valle del Genal). After one month travelling and visiting we have concluded that Pallars and Benalauria fit perfectly well with our objectives. There are women working on agriculture/livestock, there are strong associations in the territory, and climate change is strongly impacting the mountains. By having two mountain areas, we can also perform comparative work.
