UVic-UCC has a new research group that investigates the tissue repair and regeneration.
On June 16, 2015, the Governing Council of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) approved the creation of The Tissue Repair and Regeneration Laboratory (TR2Lab). The TR2Lab is lead by the Professor Marta Otero who directs a team of twenty researchers from various institutions and health facilities such as UVic-UCC, the Hospital Universitari de Vic, and the Hospital Universitari de la Santa Creu de Vic.
The aim of this new research group is improve the quality of life of people through investigating in the field of tissue repair and regeneration. Also, one of the specific objectives of the research group is to create a stable framework for collaboration between the UVic-UCC and the health institutions of the local surroundings. The team is multidisciplinary and works in four major research lines: innovation in wound healing, the mechanisms of tissue repair and regeneration, the fragility and tissue regeneration, and the nutrition and tissue regeneration.
