Marta Cullell Dalmau is associated Professor in the Department of Bioscience at the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia. She teaches several subjects (Biotechnological Products and Processes, Integrated Laboratory and Bioreactors) in the degree of Biotechnology.
After her degree in Biotechnology, Marta Cullell, achieved a Molecular Biotechnology Master at the University of Barcelona. Professor Cullell started her research career at the Research Group in Bioinformatics and Medical Statistics (BEM) where she focused her research on the Molecular Evolution in Homo Sapiens. Recently, she has registered a patent to produce a plant growth promoter. Also, she has collaborated in different projects for companies in the field of recombinant proteins expressed by bacteria and yeasts. Later, she became a member of TR2Lab where she reoriented her research career toward chronic wounds field. Currently, she is a member of the QuBi Lab where, with the co-supervisor of Ph.D. Marta Otero of the TR2Lab, she is working in her doctoral thesis project developing new quantitiave methods to follow, analyze, and better understand the wound healing process.

PDF Article Abstract: Background: The incidence of frailty and non-healing wounds increases with patients' age. Knowledge of the relationship between frailty and wound healing progress is greatly lacking. Methods: The aim of this study is to characterize the degree of frailty in elderly patients attending a multidisciplinary wound care centres (MWCC). Additionally, we seek to assess the impact of frailty on the wound healing rate [...]
