Mariola Cano Sánchez is an Advanced Practice Nurse in Martinique island (France). She is working for the development of a telemedecine service in a chronic wounds care unit at the University Hospital of Martinique.
Mariola Cano’s professional career has been developed in the treatment of chronic skin wounds. Currently, she is a doctoral student of the TR2Lab under the supervision of PhD. Marta Otero and Dr. Rémi Neviere. Her thesis project focuses on analyzing the effects of metalloproteinases levels into the mitochondria functionality in the context of wound healing.
Mariola Cano is a nurse by the University of Granada (2004), postgraduated in Social Gerontology: health, longevity and quality (2010) by the University of Jaén and in Nutrigenomics and personalized nutrition (2014) by the University of the Balearic Islands, Specialist in Geriatrics by the Spanish Ministry of Health (2014), and Expert in Chronic Wounds Care by the University of Cantabria (2016).

The nurses and physicians of TR2Lab are doing a great effort in the Hospital Universitari de la Santa Creu de Vic, in the Hospital Universitari de Vic, in the Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa. Also, some of them are involved in the Coronavirus study led by the Oriol Mitjà at the Germans Trias i Pujol hospital in Badalona. Mariola Cano participates in the final of the scientific dissemination contest of the University of the Antilles
On November 17th, took place the final of the research valorization contest organized by the doctoral school of the University of the Antilles (UA) "La science en Pwent". This contest is part of the activities proposed by the UA in the week of science. The contest consists of explaining the doctoral project in 8 minutes so that it can be understood by the most specialized public, the public least familiar with the scientific language.
