The research line in “Bone growth, remodeling, and repair” led by Ph.D. Xavier Jordana Comín focuses on the anatomical, histological, and physico-chemical changes associated with ontogeny and disease of bone tissue. The aim of the research is to understand the mechanisms of adaptation of bone tissue to aging and pathological processes to be applied in different medical fields such as forensics and biomedical sciences. Xavier Jordana joined in 2019 as an associate professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare at UVic-UCC and as a member of the TR2Lab research group. His research has focused on the study of skeletal biology in the field of physical and forensic anthropology. He is currently investigating the histological pattern of perimortal bone trauma in the forensic context.
