Beatriu de Pinós programme (BP 2017) is a grants programme for the incorporation of postdoctoral research staff into the Catalan science and technology system funded by Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government).

 We are seeking for a talented and highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with a background in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology or similar, who obtained a PhD not before January 2016, to study the action of light-regulated drugs in cell preparations, primary cultures and zebrafish, as animal model.

If the applicant is awarded, we offer a postdoctoral stage in an excellent lab to develop his/her scientific skills. In the Molecular Photopharmacology research group within the TR2Lab, the candidate will have the opportunity to carry out stimulating research in a high-quality and interdisciplinary environment composed of pharmacologists, physiologists, clinicians and chemists. The project will be developed in close collaboration with groups from different national and international institutions and, in especial, with researchers from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). We also encourage postdoctoral students to interact with leading international research groups in the emerging field of photopharmacology, to improve the quality of their formation and provide the applicant with unique opportunities to develop a strong research career development. The group is led by Dr. Xavier Rovira.

Requirements for candidates:

  • The candidate must have finished his/her PhD on Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Biology fields or similar after January 2016.
  • The candidate should have an excellent background in biology and Biochemistry.
  • The candidate must be highly motivated, have a good knowledge of English and excellent communication and personal skills.
  • It will be valued to have experience in molecular biology, pharmacology, microscopy, cell biology and animal behaviour.
