Proposal: The Clinical Wounds Unit of the Santa Crue University Hospital (HUSC) is a member institution of the TR2Lab research group. At the Clinical Wounds Unit, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is applied to some of their patients. It has been seen that this therapy is effective in many cases, but, especially in fragile patients, it is not effective. For this reason, the objective of this TFG is the implementation of an angiogenesis model in vitro with which to work and see the effects of PRP extracted from patients suffering from chronic wounds.

Proposal: Angiogenesis is needed in skin regeneration after injury or ulceration. The wound healing in frail patients, in particular in diabetic patients, can be improved if the wound is treated with autologous platelet growth factors. A number of frail patients though do not benefit from this tratment. Our purpose is to analyse the effect of platelet growth factors from frail patients on angiogenesis in vitro, with aim to understand the impairment of wound healing in frail patients.
