PhD. Dachs earned her doctorate working on research into Spinal Muscular Atrophy

(SMA), a neurodegenerative disease of genetic origin that affects children. The research group where she studied her doctorate is leading in the study of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and with her incorporation the group started the study of SMA. Prior to the doctorate, Dr. Dachs was working for four years at Salisbury District Hospital (Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust), where she combined the work of genetic diagnosis, specifically in the study of chromosomal abnormalities that can be found in peripheral blood, amniotic fluid, chorionic villus, and spinal cord; and as a research fellow working on a project about multiple myeloma at the Southampton University, a multicentre project. Currently under the TR2Lab has focused her research on the study of the effects on muscle chronic wounds.

Elisabet Dachs PhD in Biology from the University of Lleida (2012), Master Monitoring in Clinical Trials by Universitat de Barcelona – Escola del Medicament (ESAME) (2000) and a degree in Biochemistry (2000) and Biology (1998 ) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
